For encouragement, I'd like to share the following:
ReplyDelete- memorizing stuff is not my "gift", but, i have found that if i just look at these 1-2 times a day, it has been EASIER than anything to memorize these. i really feel like the LORD just wants us to have this as a blessing, so, He's making it easy to remember. (i'm even skipping a few days a wk and still have them memorized)
- i can't believe how handy these things have been. b/c these have been on my heart/lips, they've been incredibly convenient to encourage both non-believers and believers, sparkting great conversation in the truth of the LORD for both.
- these have been amazing tools as the enemy attacks me. just last night, i did the RIGHT things with my kid in discipline but it always is hard emotionally, and i immediately heart the enemy whispering stuff in my head. and the LORD whispered in my head to counter, "But you have been reconciled by Christ's... without blemish and free from accusation" this was as i was going to sleep, so, really handy to have these memorized.

I just had a discussion this morning with a guy who has just memorized Joshua 1:8 and is beginning to understand what God means when he says "Don't let this book of law depart from your mouth." It's just like in Deut 6:6 when Israel is commanded to talk about God's words to their children as they come and go, all over their lives. Yeah!
