ReplyDeleteI have a neighbor who has been battling a disease called RSD Reflex Sympethic Distrophy for about 18 months. This was a side effect from a surgery in a nutshell, it has been explained to her that the docter somehow short circuited her nervous system.
She is about to go have a pain pump surgically placed in her spine, she is 34 yrs old and a mother of three, and has surrendered to the idea that the rest of her life will look like more and more dibilitating pain.
I approached her today and asked her if I could offer her a way through prayer to be healed would she be interested in learning more, this is about as bold and equiped as I know I am at this moment so where do I go from Here? I am willing I just need some guidance!
Thanks for your help!

Steven -
ReplyDeleteReally interesting 3rd "pre-class" session. Your discussion on the Spiritual roots of disease were really interesting. As was the concept of generational "curses". To be honest, I'm not really sure what to think of these concepts yet. But I am glad that I'm thinking about them.
Questions that I've been pondering since Tuesday include:
If I've already got kids and I am eventually set free of strongholds/curses in my life, what about my kids? Are they set free from this as well? Or do they have to cast off their own strongholds that have already been passed down?
You talked about how sin (as well as faith, prayer and repentance) can actually change DNA. About 8-weeks ago my wife and I had a baby boy that was born with Down Syndrome (also known as Trisomy 21 - which means he has an "extra" 21'st Chromosome). I've been struggling to understand the reason why this happened to him, and my heart breaks as I think about some of the future challenges he will experience. Medical experts still have no idea what causes DS. If this were your son, how would you apply your faith to help give him the best life possible?
Thanks for your insight. I am enjoying the class so far and am excited to dive in more deeply in April.

Hey Steven,
ReplyDeleteJust got through with "A More Excellent Way" and most of the teachings on the Great Bible Study Website. You were right about it being a little difficult to get through, but there some potentially very powerful teachings in both places.
I was browsing around for some specific roots on throat cancer, and found some interesting stuff. I have a good friend who's losing a two-year battle with it. Interestingly, an acquaintance of his once told me that he used to be a preacher. When I pressed him on it, he simply denied it. A few days ago, he told me that he had to come clean. He told me that he was too ashamed to tell me about it at the time (right around when he was diagnosed) but he wanted to set the record straight. He was a Baptist preacher for over twenty years, and was forced to resign when his wife filed for divorce. She was simply tired of struggling financially, and went on to marry a rich co-worker. What I found interesting was that he felt broken after this, and distant from God.
Here's what I found on this site
http://www.mindsync.com/lam/root.htm
Cancer – Throat
Broken spirit, unforgiveness, unresolved conflict with others, self, fear and anxiety
This site has since been updated to
http://www.lifeapplicationministries.org/
So I browse around there, and all the teaching seems extremely similar to that of Henry Wright. So yesterday, I email the site owner/minister with my friend's story and comments of the similarities.
Here's what she said - Yes, our teachings are similar as I was on staff for awhile and helped develop their curriculum. Pastor Henry also ordained me in 2001. But I'm doing my own ministry here in California, yet we do network from time to time.
It's worth a look for those not interested in investing the time/money for the book.
In addition, I'm headed out of town this weekend to spend some time with my friend and see what happens when the Holy Spirit shows up. His name's Chuck McGill - all prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Good on ya, Jamie! We've got a class of BOLD MEN, and it delights me! Thanks for digging into these resources and searching out the truth. And thanks for being a FREEDOM FIGHTER, Jamie!
ReplyDeleteReally excited about you, man. Praying for your friend. I have a real heart for men who've been pummeled by the religious system...
Lesson learned - Daddy's in charge, not me.
ReplyDeleteI went to see Chuck the first week of February. I fasted for three days, got all charged up in the Spirit, even had my Elder Step-Dad get me some holy oil. I printed out 50 or so passages on healing, and was gonna knock this cancer out for him. Bind the spirit of unforgiveness/bitterness whatever I encountered was gonna go down.
As I have never been all that great with the prophetic - I happened to call a friend who has proven well with it. He prayed for a while, called me back, and told me I was just supposed to listen. But . . my oil? I'm all fasted up? My prayer sheet? NO!
So I did what he said. After driving 300 or so miles, and not eating for three days - I just sat and listened. For seven hours I listened. As I was leaving - I did end up praying and put some hands on the spot of the original tumor (no oil). I was so tired I don't even remember what I prayed.
So - that week he was able to hear out of his left ear for the first time in over a year. He was also able to go off pain meds. We are waiting on the results of his most recent scan - but as of last week all of his tumors have disappeared or shrunk to almost non-existence. Praise God. And praise Him again for reminding me that He does it His way - not mine.
Just wanted to say thanks for what you're doing man. It makes a difference.
P.S. Started reading Blessings or Curses (Derek Prince) yesterday. The second page I read after getting back from class tonight was about sozo. :)
Edit - last week of February. I'll figure out this blog thing at some point.
